Abstract:Based on the analysis of the epidemic information and data of COVID-19, the method of geographic information applied in the visualized epidemic design and its artistic and social value are discussed. Theories relevant to visualization and cartography are supplemented by case studies and practical researches. The visual variables of visual language like color, size and form are constructed to complete the design and production of the epidemic map from the perspective of geographic information including location, quantity and relationship, combined with epidemic information and data, and with reference to information visualization. The geographic information is taken as the model and dimension of information to explore the visualized design and propose the specific methods for visualized epidemic design. The epidemic map improves the accuracy of time and space information, increases users’comprehension and provides a certain reference and support for the prevention and control decision in the epidemic area.
