Under the impact of the new urbanization tide, the protection and development of ancient villages are facing a huge threat, especially the traditional farming based cultural form that living together and intensive farming is facing the danger of being forgotten or even annihilated. Firstly, this paper makes clear that traditional rural construction in China is still progressing, and the role and significance of farming culture as an important part of traditional rural construction. This paper comprehensively analyzes the conflict and polarization between the new urbanization and the new rural construction, and considers how to promote the traditional rural construction under this realistic background. Then, the paper discusses how to integrate the farming culture as the material and spiritual carrier with the traditional rural construction through the similarities and differences of design strategy, seeks a new mode of traditional rural construction from four aspects: industry, space, culture and technology, and the diversity of design carriers and communication modes, trying to provide new ideas and effective paths for the traditional rural construction in China in the new era based on the farming culture.
