Abstract:The work aims to analyze the popular causes and cultural connotation of the "Ugly Cute" subculture, and explore its integration opportunities and future development with cultural and creative product design. The paper defines and combs the concept of "Ugly Cute" subculture and its own development and popular causes. Combining with the existing cases of cultural and creative products, it explores the current situation and value of combining "Ugly Cute" subculture and cultural and creative product design, further analyzes the emotional needs and deep performance of ugliness appreciation in today's society, and explores the future development strategies of cultural and creative products from the perspective of "Ugly Cute" subculture. As a new subculture, the "Ugly Cute" subculture needs to be viewed and accepted objectively. "Ugly Cute" shows "ugliness" to the public with a positive vision and an optimistic attitude of "nothing is perfect", which is a manifestation of the improvement of the public's aesthetic awareness and open mind. The re-appreciation of "ugliness" by the "Ugly Cute" subculture not only broadens the visual boundary of public's aesthetics, but also stimulates the design creativity in cultural and creative products.
